Build Your Intuition Through Simple Practices

When I first began exploring metaphysics, intuition, and psychic development, I believed they were magically “bestowed gifts” that were separate from everyday life and required special rituals to access and receive them.

What I discovered is that although I’ve developed my abilities to use psychic perceptions to guide myself and support others, the most powerful and accessible guidance comes from our intuition as the interface with our Higher Self and Spirit Team.

That’s why I always focus on work to support and help others develop their intuition and create more self-agency.

The clarity and connection I have with my intuition didn’t come from all the elaborate how-to-methods I’ve tried over the past thirty years. It came from the small, consistent practices that are simple and easy to do.  

Our intuition isn’t separate from us, it’s baked in as our innate guidance system. We learn to navigate with it through consistent practices that help us tune in and better understand how to interpret the guidance we receive.

And the key to practice… is to practice.

My Basic Intuitive Practices

  • Place my hand on my heart and ask for support when I need it.
  • Speak with my Spirit Team throughout the day, asking for guidance and trusting their presence.
  • Journal regularly and engaging in a dialogue with my Higher Self and Spirit Team.

The power of these practices is their simplicity. They don’t require special tools or elaborate rituals. They require presence, practice, and consistency.

Simple doesn’t mean insignificant. 
Simple is doable.
Simple is accessible. 
Simple is sustainable. 

You become good at receiving guidance by practicing receiving guidance… and then following it.

Expanded Intuitive Practices

Here’s a little more detail to the basic practices I listed above.

  1. Start Your Day With Intention: Place your hand on your heart as soon as you wake up and ask for guidance and support for the day ahead. You can also be specific with your request.
  2. Talk To Your Spirit Team: Whether you call them guides, angels, ancestors, or something else, invite their presence into your day by speaking with them as trusted companions who are always there to support you.
  3. Journal Your Inner Dialogue: Spend a few minutes each day writing down any thoughts, feelings, or questions on your mind and be open to what feels like a response.
  4. Practice Presence in Mundane Tasks: Everyday is filled with stuff we have to do that can be “mindless” like laundry, dishes, and walking the dog. Take these as these opportunities to practice “off-gassing” your thoughts and opening to receive guidance. Notice subtle invitations and internal shifts.
  5. Trust What You Receive: The more you practice learning how your intuition works for you, the better you’ll discern it. Trust that whatever comes through is exactly what you need in this moment. (Sometimes it’s a “no” or “wait”.) And then explore the invitation or the guidance. 

Energy Practices to Support You in Trying Times

  1. Voo Breathing: Activates your vagus nerve to promote relaxation and reduce anxiety.
    ✨Take a deep inhale, then exhale slowly while making a deep “vooooooo” sound.
    ✨Focus on the vibration in your chest and how it feels in your body.
    ✨Repeat 3-5 times, allowing the vibration to bring a sense of calm and grounding.
  2. Calling, Clearing, and Claiming: Can be read or spoken and adapted as desired.
    “I call on my Higher Self and Spirit Team to clear from me, what is not mine and does not serve me; including any and all non-beneficial energies, entities, emotions, interferences and influences, and any form of harmful blocks and beliefs.
    Please create space within and around me so I may feel more peaceful and can connect to the earth and others with more compassion and clarity. I am open, ready, and willing to receive love, support, and guidance to take my next step. I affirm, it is so.”
  3. Yes, and….  This is a well known improvisational comedy tool. 
    I’ve recently adapted it to help me cope and to keep me from being stuck and overwhelmed. 
    It’s a way to acknowledge something and then take an appropriate action.
    Ex. Yes, this shitty thing just happened, and this is the donation/phone call/email/action I can/will do in response.
  4. Energy Work: You can also revisit and listen to this 5-minute Energy Work and Healing Transmission for support too.

You’re Guided. Period.

Follow your curiosity and explore it, especially when you feel like you KNOW life is inviting you to change and grow.

You don’t have to figure everything out, just take the next best step for you – especially if it gives you some peace and / or excites you.
